this was a good week

This was a good week! Here’s why:

• I’m finally getting over my cough, we’ll be officially done moving this weekend, and my office is all set up and ready to go. It’s nice for Chookooloonks HQ to have a permanent home again. (You can see a tour of my tiny little set-up here.)

• I’ve been so focused on setting up the house, I haven’t really gotten into the Christmas spirit yet — but my lovely friend Andrea’s sweet, short video might just get me there.

The illustrations of the Great British Baking Show are just gorgeous.

This Snoopy and his real flying doghouse makes me happy.

This record-breaking cherry blossom tree made entirely of LEGOs is just fantastic. (That it lights up is the icing on the cake!)

This dancer is mesmerizing.

• And finally, for today’s soundtrack, and oldie but a goodie: Bobby McFerrin demonstrates the magic of the pentatonic scale. There’s something about the pentatonic scale — the scales “were developed independently by many ancient civilizations—an indication that pentatonic scales are based upon a naturally occurring phenomenon,” according to Wikipedia — and this amazing video illustrates this beautifully.

With that, have a wonderful weekend, friends. See you next week.
