for everything there is a season

Today is Memorial Day in the United States:  a federal holiday, and a day of remembrance for those who died while serving in the armed forces.

It is also, unofficially, the beginning of summer.

And, incidentally, it's the beginning of Alex's last week in the 6th grade.

And there are more beginnings to come.

Turn, turn, turn.
