Five years ago today, we were just returning from a pretty epic 10-day, 10th anniversary trip to Paris.  Even though the trip was to celebrate our anniversary, instead of making it a twosome, we brought Alex along.  This turned out to be a really brilliant idea -- to this day, she ranks Paris as one of the best adventures she's ever had (even though she was only 8 at the time).  And it truly was a great time:  even though both Marcus and I had been to Paris several times before, watching it unfold through Alex's eyes made it feel brand new.  There's something about discovering something with people you love, man.  It's bonding.

In a couple of weeks, we're off on another adventure.  I won't tell you where yet, but suffice to say that it's not nearly as far or as bustling as Paris is.  Still, it's a place where none of us have ever been, so we'll be discovering it together.  I can't wait.

I hope you have a chance this summer to spend some time with people you love discovering somewhere new, whether it's in your back yard or on the other side of the planet, whether it's or just an afternoon, or some longer amount of time.  Take some time to be together with friends or family who matter.

And in the meantime, there's always Paris.
