a little list of good things
Some good things I found over the past week:
• This video of manatees, as seen from a clear canoe, is just so delightful.
• This tourist meant to visit San Francisco, but got off the plane in Bangor, Maine. And the best part of this story is that for three days, he had no idea.
• These images are breathtaking.
• The Sweden Solar System is the largest model of our solar system in the world. The “sun” is in Stockholm, and Pluto is 300 km north, in Delsbo. How cool is that?
• This spoken word performance by artist Beau Sia, entitled, “How Can They Love Us?” Whoosa.
• The problem with “not seeing race.”
• And finally, if you have problems finding the right words to respond when you witness racism or bigotry, the Houston Coalition Against Hate is offering several free 90-minute bystander intervention trainings, on multiple dates, which provide guidance on how to safely intervene. It’s open to everyone (designed for high school age and older), anywhere in the world. Have a look.
And now you’re ready for the new year: fun facts, a cool designer, and representation matters.
It’s back: good people doing good things. And raising a little hell in the process.
Some joy in a good week.
