Karen is a nationally-recognized speaker, author & workshop facilitator.
From intimate gatherings and workshops, to town halls attended by hundreds, I can tailor a message specific to your organization's needs.
I've spoken on topics that include self-empowerment, creativity and innovation.
I've spoken extensively on leadership, ethics, diversity and inclusion at universities, legal organizations and many other audiences around the country. Because of my diverse legal, corporate and creative background, I focus on topics as wide-ranging as leadership, diversity, self-image, creativity, social media and human resource issues.
My keynotes and workshops include these concepts, specifically addressing how vulnerability -- the ability to show up in the midst of uncertainty, risk and emotional exposure -- is the strongest measure of courage that we have, courage which can help foster innovation and creativity.
In addition, I've been trained in positive psychology coaching with the Wholebeing Institute, using the science of well-being and research-based assessments and interventions to bring about greater satisfaction, purpose and fulfillment in life.
And as part of my work encouraging others to "look for the light," my TEDxHouston talk on the subject of resonance has reached over 100,000 viewers, and counting.
I've spoken to diverse audiences and my client list is wide-ranging, including Getty Images, Child Health Corporation of America, the University of Houston, Dove, Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence, among many others. I've appeared on both local and national television shows and other news media, contributing to organizations including PBS, Huffington Post, CNN.com, Sheryl Sandberg's LeanIn.org and both the Oprah Winfrey Show and Oprah.com.
Finally, I'm also an attorney and an active member of the State Bar of Texas.
As the former Chief Counsel of Landmark Graphics Corporation, one of the largest software companies in the oil & gas industry, as well as the former Chief of Staff of Halliburton Energy Services, I have extensive experience in strategy development, change management processes, corporate ethics management and education.
