a little beauty for the weekend

"Dear God, woman, I need a bath."

"Dear God, woman, I need a bath."

This has been a crazy week.  I love Austin and I love San Antonio -- they're both great cities, really -- but the truth is, I hate driving.  And after clocking 800 miles on my car over the last few days, I'm looking forward to sitting at home this weekend and doing absofreakinglutely nothing.

(Except maybe bathing the dog.  Bless his shaggy heart.)

Anyway, if you, like me, are planning a weekend where you're catatonic on your couch, here are a couple of cool places to surf -- all with some serious beauty:

The Kid Should See This.  I may be really late to the party, but this site, filled with all kinds of cool videos that aren't made for kids, but yet are great for kids (and adults) is straight-up awesome.  It has everything from science to nature to art to music -- worth a look.

My friend Xanthe Berkeley has just returned from a month away with her family to Asia.  Xanthe is one of my very favourite online photographers, and she's been slowly revealing the images from her adventures -- here and here and here and here.  Go take a look, but be warned:  you will come down with a serious case of wanderlust.

My friend Tea has a beautiful tutorial on how to properly poach an egg.  I've always been highly afraid of even trying, but that photograph at the top of her post is tempting enough for me to try -- it looks like the perfect weekend brunch, don't you think?

My friend Andrea played hooky this week.  Earlier this week, I had a bit of disappointing news, so I played a bit of hooky, myself -- so I totally get the sentiments she expresses in her post.  And since she says that joy is amplified when shared with others, it's only fair I pass her words along.

I also wrote a piece on prepping your body from the inside out.  Happy to report that I've been doing well so far.

Also, Path Finder continues to fill up fast.  If you'd like to join us, you can register right here.

And finally, for those of you who aren't dog people, here's a video of a cat in a shark suit chasing a duckling around on a Roomba:

Have a great weekend, friends.
