a new fun little tool

The crepe myrtle in our front garden.  These petals are really tiny: the little brown fruit-looking thing in amongst the petals is about 1/2" across, for scale.

I wasn't planning on writing a blog post for today, but yesterday evening, my new AMIR 2-in-1 macro/wide angle lens for my smartphone arrived. 

Now, I'm not a particularly avid iPhoneographer -- I leave that to the pros, like my friend Stephanie -- but a friend tipped me off that this lens was deeply discounted, so I bought it, and last night I tried the macro lens (a lens that allows you to take really close-up shots).  These photos are the result.  Not too bad, eh?

So this post is just me quickly popping in to say that if you're into iPhoneography, you should go grab yourself one of these lenses -- right now, they're down from $95 to $29.  A pretty good deal, I'd say.

Tiny clover leaves in our back garden.  From end to end, each set of clover leaves is about 3/4" across.  I love that you can see the little hairs on the leaves.
