down under morning
As I type this, it's about 5:40 am on Wednesday, October 9th here in Brisbane and I've been up for an hour. I've been watching the sun come up outside of my window (it comes up early in October in Australia!), and enjoying the peaceful quiet of my hotel room.
Sometimes jetlag isn't such an awful thing, man.
Yesterday, Hailey and her husband, Andrew, took Maile and me all over Brisbane. They are absolutely amazing, full of joy and exuberance for life, and really the perfect pople to spend an afternoon with when you're fighting travel fatigue. Because of them, Maile and I had a great Australian meal (barramundi, anyone?), and I managed to take a few awesome shots of this very sweet city. I can't wait to share them with you when I return.
We have a big day today: after breakfast, Maile, Hailey and I are back to the airport, headed to Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef. The organizers of this adventure weren't able to schedule a dive trip for me, but seeing as I've come all this way, I'm going to be trying my damnedest to make it happen. Fingers crossed that I can work something out.
In the meantime, did you catch my SoundCloud of my arrival here in Australia, and crossing the International Date line? Be sure to click here to have a look and listen. Also, for additional photos that may or may not be shared on Chookooloonks, please follow me on Instagram to catch even more of our adventure as it happens.
It's approaching 6 am now, and the sun is fully up. I'm off to shower, friends. More soon.
