homesick for trinidad & tobago

I'm dealing with a bit of homesickness these days.

Even though it has been 6 years since we left Trinidad (and I'm convinced we made the right decision returning to the United States), every now and then my longing for home comes rushing over me like one of those crazy waves that sometimes roll into Maracas Bay. The feeling passes, but I'm in the middle of a bout right now.

So instead of composing a post like I should have been, I've spent a shocking amount of my day searching online for images from Trinidad. In doing so, I came across the following video -- a bit over-dramatic and sugar-coated for sure (and the music is decidedly over-the-top, apologies for that), but as my memories start to soften with time, this is pretty much exactly what Trinidad looks like in my head.
