this was a good week
Somewhere between Houston and Los Angeles, Thursday, January 31, 2019. It’s cold out there.
This was a good week! Here’s why:
• I’m in Los Angeles for an unexpected quick trip in support of a dear friend and her work, traveled with another dear friend who I hadn’t seen in a while in the process, and serendipitously ran into another old friend while here. It’s always great to be reminded of good people in the world, isn’t it?
• During the government shutdown in the U.S. these elephant seals said “ALL THIS BEACH IS OURS NOW” and they ain’t leavin’.
• A woman shared her first painting ever, and artists all over the world rallied to support her — in the coolest way ever. (There’s even a diagram that shows how they’re all connected!)
• Comedian Zach Anner got his wheelchair pimped and it’s awesome.
• For those who are experiencing a deep freeze this week: who knew snow could be rolled?
• My friend, National Geographic photographer Lola Akinmade Åkerström, shares her favourite photos of 2018 and they are amazing.
• Love these instant photos of performers after performing.
With that, it’s time for me to get up, get dressed, and head to the airport to begin my journey back to Houston and my family. Have a wonderful weekend, friends. See you next week!
