Because of COVID, my parents rarely leave their house, and Marcus and I rarely do as well, since we’ve both been working remotely since spring of last year.

But as of this weekend, my mom, dad and daughter are fully vaccinated. And Marcus and I have received our first of two vaccines. So we decided to have my parents over for Sunday lunch.

When my parents arrived, I hugged my mom and dad for the first time in over a year.
